The Closer Bell — Case 3: Bonaventure

Story 7 of 11 · Starts on page 117

Sunday after Sunday, someone has been digging at the same 1952 grave in Bonaventure Cemetery, and when it's opened, the coffin is empty except for a missing young man's phone. Adelaide Pruitt Marsh's remains are the DNA proof that decides a $41 million trust, and the heir, Grayson Pruitt, hired crematory worker Carl Sikes to make them disappear. Sikes had already killed Dexter Lowry, the young man doing the digging. Before dawn at the crematory, Lee knocks Sikes out with a fire extinguisher. The DNA proves Adelaide was groundskeeper Hollis Greer's grandmother, and she is laid back to rest.
